Varsha Morar, MD is a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist trained in Washington DC. She practices integrative psychiatry. She incorporates holistic principles to improve ones overall health lifestyle and nutrition. In addition, she utilizes ayurveda, breathing techniques and also is versed in yoga science, meditation, hatha yoga, and mudra therapy. In combination, this will imorove your overall mental as well as physical wellbeing.
Varsha teaches children and adults meditation and yoga in Potomac, MD. Varsha graduated as a medical doctor all the while studying meditation and yoga as well as has extensive knowledge of nutrition. Varsha did an elective at The Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust near Dehradhun in the Garhwal region of the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in India and learned biofeedback and trained in yoga and meditation during medical school. She also studied psychoanalytic psychotherapy and is also well versed in mindfulness, psychodynamic, CBT, group, play and stress / reduction therapies. Varsha completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center / George Washington University Medical Sciences as well as adult psychiatry residency training at St. Elizabeth’s hospital and subsequently worked as a faculty at John Hopkins Medical Center at the Kennedy Krieger Center for Autism related disorders.
She later opened the Mind and Body Institute, as well as Rejuve Yoga Center along the Atlantic shores in Delaware and became a Medical Director at Beebe Medical Center providing psychiatric care to the hospital inpatient as well as Emergency Department and trained and supervised staff.
In addition, Varsha worked as the Outpatient Medical Director at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington in Washington DC before deciding to construct Varsha Wellness in Potomac, Maryland. This will allow her to provide an integrative approach to helping her patients realize their full potential. In addition, She is also currently setting up a non-profit to provide meditation education and training to children and adults in her community and beyond.
